Hot tubs don’t move in one piece. The shell is fiberglass or acrylic, the frame is usually wood or steel, and the whole thing weighs anywhere from 400 to 900 pounds empty. We cut it into sections on-site — shell, frame, and hardware separately — then load the pieces and haul them off. No crane rental, no renting a flatbed, no coordinating three different guys with a pickup truck. Go Big Blue is veteran-owned and Brian runs jobs the same way every time — assess the access, cut it right, haul every piece.

First, we assess the site. Before cutting starts, we check the access path — gate width, fence clearance, deck height. A hot tub buried in a backyard corner takes longer than one sitting on an open patio. We’ll tell you what we’re looking at before the job starts.
Then we cut and dismantle. We use reciprocating saws to section the shell and break down the cabinet frame. This is standard practice — it’s the only reliable way to get a tub out of a tight space without tearing up your landscaping or fence. The process takes 1–3 hours depending on size and access.
We haul every piece. The cut sections, the plumbing fixtures, the jets, the cover — all of it leaves with us. Nothing gets left at the curb for you to deal with later.
We don’t publish flat rates for hot tub removal because size, condition, and site access all affect the price. A small 2-person tub with open access is a different job than a 6-person model wedged against a fence line. Get a no-cost quote and we’ll give you an honest number before we start.
Most jobs run 1 to 3 hours from arrival to cleanup. Larger tubs or tight access situations — a narrow gate, stairs, a raised deck — can push that toward the longer end. We’ll give you a realistic time estimate when we quote the job.
We work around your deck, not through it. That said, if the tub was installed directly on the decking, there’s sometimes minor surface marking where the tub feet sat — unrelated to us, just what happens over time with weight and weather. We don’t cut into decks, pry up boards, or create new damage.
This is where the sectioning approach pays off. Because we cut the tub apart, we can get pieces through a 36-inch gate that a whole tub never could. We’ve removed tubs from fully enclosed backyards in Georgetown and Nicholasville where there was no obvious exit path. If you’re unsure whether your setup is workable, just call and describe it — we’ll tell you straight.
Yes. Please drain the hot tub completely before our scheduled arrival. If it still has water in it when we arrive, we can drain it on-site but that adds time to the job. Let us know in advance if drainage is an issue.
We coordinate the process but recommend having a licensed electrician disconnect the power supply before our arrival for safety compliance. Most homeowners handle this with a quick call to their utility or electrician the day before.
